Monday night’s event took place at Neston Community and Youth Centre and we’re pleased to say went extremely well, with sixteen people turning up, so we would all like to thank all of you who attended! We also saw many new faces amongst the crowd as well and hope you found the event useful, especially to some whose first day of being self employed was Monday- we wish you luck for the future!
We managed to raise an excellent £80 for The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, so thank you all again for contributing, which we’re sure will be greatly appreciated.
Right, down to the event itself. The food, as always, went down a treat and was the perfect way to let everybody mingle when they arrived. Our speaker, Geoffrey Prince, gave a delightful and inspiring talk on “Success is a matter of choice,” which gave people some very useful points about the importance of creating a business plan for your year ahead. From talking to people afterwards it seemed Geoffrey’s message had definitely sunk in!
The speed networking itself was a huge success as straight away it threw people into the deep end, but at the same time relaxed everyone so by the first ten seconds people were laughing and joking and networking successfully without getting too embarrassed. We had some great feedback about using speed networking so look out for it at one of our future events as I’m sure we will be using it again!
