Monday night’s event took place at Neston Community and Youth Centre and we’re pleased to say went extremely well, with sixteen people turning up, so we would all like to thank all of you who attended!  We also saw many new faces amongst the crowd as well and hope you found the event useful, especially to some whose first day of being self employed was Monday- we wish you luck for the future!

We managed to raise an excellent £80 for The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, so thank you all again for contributing, which we’re sure will be greatly appreciated.

Right, down to the event itself.  The food, as always, went down a treat and was the perfect way to let everybody mingle when they arrived.  Our speaker, Geoffrey Prince, gave a delightful and inspiring talk on “Success is a matter of choice,” which gave people some very useful points about the importance of creating a business plan for your year ahead.  From talking to people afterwards it seemed Geoffrey’s message had definitely sunk in!

The speed networking itself was a huge success as straight away it threw people into the deep end, but at the same time relaxed everyone so by the first ten seconds people were laughing and joking and networking successfully without getting too embarrassed.  We had some great feedback about using speed networking so look out for it at one of our future events as I’m sure we will be using it again!

Below you’ll be able to see some photographs that were taken on the evening. Are you in there?

Well… I would just like to say thank you for everyone who turned up to our first Wirral event of 2009. We had 24 people in total at Bobby’s Bar in New Brighton. Bobby’s Bar did us proud and put on a cracking buffet which was sponsored by MyWirralHub.

The speed networking went down a treat and there were some networking virgins who were dropped in the deep end but seemed to enjoy it at the same time.

If you came a long please add your comments to the blog or even send us some comment via email. If we could have done something better for you or differently, we would also like to know that too.

Some comments received so far:

Thank you for all your hard work organising the event last night. I hope you were pleased with the response. You’ve set yourselves a high standard for future events! Rosemary Quinn

We shall be adding the video of the evening in the next week and some photographs of the event too.

Our next event is next Thursday in Liverpool at The Chocolate Cellar on Hanover Street. To book your place please visit: http://mywirralhub-liverpool.eventbrite.com. Only 35 places for this event due to space within the venue.

We look forward to seeing you there!
